Formulec’s EF01 made its fourth official outing in as many months last weekend following appearances at Berlin’s Michelin Bibendum Challenge in May, the ‘Looking to the future’ parade at the famous Le Mans 24 Hours race in June, and the Bavaria City Racing event held in Moscow in July.
Last Sunday (August 21) Rotterdam played host to its latest demonstration where the EF01 joined an extraordinary variety of famous cars, including the Formula 1 machinery of Ferrari and Mercedes.
In the hands of Alexandre Prémat, the 100% electric Formulec EF01 single-seater made several runs over the superb four-kilometre-long layout situated at the heart of the city centre in front of hundreds of thousands of spectators, some of which had travelled from far and wide in order to attend this now traditional event.
This was in fact the seventh edition of the Rotterdam Bavaria City Racing roadshow which was well planned thanks to faultless organisation.
Saturday night saw the EF01 displayed in front of the city’s Town Hall where guests of the gala dinner, including former F1 team boss Eddie Jordan, were welcomed.
Like previous appearances, Formulec used the opportunity to strengthen links with its local partners who are keen to see the organisation of a 100% electric single-seater event in the Netherlands, a country at the forefront of implementing clean energy sources.
On its subsequent return to France this week, the EF01 continued its test and development programme which is currently focused on optimising tyres for the specific requirements of an electric drivetrain.
The EF01 will make its next public appearance at the Frankfurt Motorshow during the second half of September.
