Round 7: Eventsigns Mewla Rally, 28 August
Peter Lloyd won the seventh round of the championship, the Eventsigns Mewla Rally, in his Subaru Impreza WRC.
Lloyd led the eight-stage event on the Epynt Military Ranges from start to finish, arriving back at the Royal Welsh Showground in Builth Wells 49 seconds ahead of his nearest rivals, Simon Mauger and co-driver Brian Cammack.
Defending champion Damian Cole had needed to finish just two places ahead of Mauger to seal the 2011 title. The two were running neck-and-neck until the penultimate stage when Cole overshot a junction, losing enough time to allow Mauger to edge in front and reduce the gap at the top of the points table.
