Round 5: Whilton Mill, 3-4 September
Jamie Caroline moved into second place in the championship standings after taking a double victory at Whilton Mill.
Caroline edged out Billy Monger, Daniel Ticktum and Dean Macdonald in a tense final on Saturday, with the top four crossing the line less than seven tenths of a second apart. Behind them Thanassi Barnicoat passed three karts around the outside of ‘The Boot’ on the final lap to snatch fifth.
Sunday’s final was another classic slipstreaming affair with Caroline, Ticktum, Monger and Macdonald breaking away from the pack again. Caroline worked his way to the front of the group for his second win of the weekend ahead of Ticktum, who maintains his championship lead.
