Team Ghinzani´s Argentinean driver was first in the morning and third in the afternoon during the collective testing held inin Rome. Yesterday was very useful to reach some conclusions for next meeting of Italian Formula 3 championship.
Facu Regalia completed yesterday a new collective testing for Italian Formula 3 championship, which was held at Vallelunga as training for sixth round of 2011 season. Team Ghinzani´s driver showed his speed on a track where he was the fastest man in pre-season tests.Regalia was first in the morning, using low mileage tires, and third in the afternoon despite he used just a set of fresh tires.
The young driver explained at the end: “I found comfortable at Vallelunga. In the morning I set the best lap time, 1:31.308, and I was two tenths faster than everyone else. In the afternoon, I was leading but finally two drivers beat me. Anyway I was third, very close to them. My best lap then was 1:31.040”, Regalia told. Also, young 19 years-old driver said that “we thought to keep P1 using just a set of fresh tires, but we couldn´t achieve it. Anyway it is positive because my rivals used their second set, and we saved it. It´s important to keep it for free practice sessions at Vallelunga”.
After his last weekend at Adria, where Regalia couldn´t achieve the results which he was expecting, he welcomes “our test at Vallelunga. We have a good set-up for this track, because my car was just suffering from a low understeer using new tires. It wasn´t to be worried but anyway we will try to solve it. For sure we are cautious concerning our prospects, because we are fast enough in collective testing but then again we have problems in race days. I am confident to try my best at Vallelunga, but I don´t want to become over-confident”.
