Gravity Goes Green

Gravity   Sport   Management   is   proud   to   announce   that   it   has   signed   an   agreement   with myclimatelux to become the first Climate Neutral driver programme.

Myclimatelux  has  calculated  the  climate-impacting  emissions  produced  by Gravity’s activities and both  partners  have  established  the  best  way  to  offset  them  following  the  principle  of  ‘Avoid  – Reduce  –  Offset’.  Over  a  two-and-a-half  year  period,  Gravity  will  counterbalance  all  its  CO2 emissions  (from  races,  flights  and  car  journeys  plus  regular  office  work)  with  the  target  of  a significant reduction by the end of 2013. Myclimate  is  one  of  the  world's  leading  providers  of  voluntary  carbon  offsetting  measures.  This non-profit foundation supports projects that apply renewable energy technology, implement energy efficiency  measures  or  reduce  CO2  emissions  –  mainly  in  developing  and  threshold  countries  in Africa, Latin America and Asia.

These carbon offset projects reduce greenhouse emissions while making a significant contribution to  sustainable  development. All  of  them  are  characterised  by  their  compliance  with  very  strict criteria  (Gold  Standard).  Myclimatelux  guarantees  that  at  least  80%  of  offset  payments  are  put toward these special projects. In  order  to  distinguish  especially  responsible  businesses, myclimate  has  developed  the “Climate Neutral” label. Organisations that display this label are making a significant contribution to climate protection.

As  of  this  weekend’s  Italian  Grand  Prix,  Jérôme  D’Ambrosio  (Formula  1),  Romain Grosjean, Christian Vietoris, Brendon Hartley (GP2 series), Alexander Sims and Richie Stanaway (GP3  series)  will  operate  according  to  this  Climate  Neutral  status.  Ho-Pin  Tung,  Nicolas  Prost, Marco  Wittmann,  Javier  Tarancon,  Esteban  Ocon  and  Dorian  Boccolacci  will  comply  right  from their next race weekend.
