Round 5: Brynffynon, Llanwonno, 17-18 September

Richard Kershaw took victory by the narrowest of margins, as he defeated Ian Rochelle by just one second after 15 runs of the Bynffynon course.

Rochelle was quickest on the opening two runs and led by 36 seconds from Kershaw at the end of day one. Dan Lofthouse has been in third early on but a broken propshaft dropped him down the leaderboard.

Competitors faced treacherous conditions for the second day as torrential rain made the course extremely slippery. Kershaw, a former champion, mastered the conditions and grabbed a last-gasp victory, his first win in the championship since 2009. Meanwhile Lofthouse fought back with a series of quick times to retake third.
