Zolder, 17/18 September 2011
Jon Walker was the man to beat at Zolder, however Belgian racer John Rasse recordedhis first overall win in Lotus Cup Europe, which supported a well-attended round of theFIA European Truck Championship. Rasse's success rewarded a gritty drive in which heovercame an early challenge from Rémi Pochauvin plus a late surge by Phillipe Loup, and came twelve months after being denied of the top spot at the same circuit. Rasseis only the second man to win outright with an Exige Cup class car since LoTRDC tookover organisation of the series in 2009.
Loup's challenge ended when he oversteered into the barrier but he completed therace, leaving the ever-present Christophe Lisandre to take second and Pochauvin third.Rasse's cause was helped when Walker was unable to fire up his engine for race two, which he had high hopes for. Fastest in qualifying by a second, he broke Lisandre'sresolve in the first encounter, and the pair were joined by Loup on the podium. Rasseclaimed a class victory with sixth place, whilst the Evora spoils were shared by GregoryRasse and Thierry Verheist. Meanwhile José Vaslin picked up the Production classtrophies after prevailing over Paul Pattison and Nigel Ayres.
