Former V8 Ute Driver Adam Brand will return to the Deniliquin Ute Muster along with some of his former competitors this weekend Friday, 31st September – 1st October.
Brand will perform in front of over 22,000 patrons to his song “Born To Be Wild” featuring action from the 2011 Auto One V8 Ute Racing Series – protected by Armor All.
“My time in the V8 Ute Series was such a great experience and I’d be back there in a second if it wasn’t for my music commitments. I’m looking forward to seeing some of the gang at Deni and excited about our show,” said Brand.
Brand raced in the V8 Ute Series in 2002, 03 and 2006 and raced against the likes of V8 Supercar driver, Warren Luff, TV personality Grant Denyer; two-time V8 Ute champion Damien White, former NRL player and V8 Ute champion Jack Elsegood and Motorsport legend Peter Brock. He knows what it’s like to take on the challenge of Mount Panorama, which all V8 Ute drivers will be doing next week for the fifth Round of the Series at Bathurst.
“Mount Panorama is a great track. I raced there a couple of times when I was with the Utes and it’s not a track to be taken lightly. You need to respect the mountain as it has taken lives in the past. It’s a track with a lot of challenges and I’m sure the Utes will put on a great show up there next weekend,” said Brand.
V8 Ute drivers attending the Deni weekend include Jesus Racing’s Andrew Fisher, Greg Willis, Chris Pither and Cameron McConville.
The drivers will be involved in Circle Work Demonstrations, as well as judging and commentating for the Clarion Go To Wo, Holden Barrel Race, talks on the Ice Break Day Stage and even an appearance at the Nulon Oil Blue Singlet Count, which had 3,500 counted for the Guinness World Record in 2010.
The Deni Ute Muster also holds the world record for the most amount of legally registered Utes in one place and went from 2,829 in their first year in 1999 to 10,152 last year.
The V8 Utes will also have a display area where patrons can come and see the race Utes up close and have the chance to meet a few of their favourite drivers at signing sessions.
Deniliquin Ute Muster CEO, John Harvie is pleased to have the V8 Utes on board again.
“With the Deniliquin Ute Muster being a celebration of all things Australian and the icon of the ute the V8 utes at the Muster is a perfect fit for our patrons to see utes at their racing best.
“And it’s great for our patrons to have the opportunity to see the utes up close and get the chance to meet the drivers,” Mr Harvie said.
You will also have a chance to see the Utes live on TV this weekend. Check out Weekend Sunrise this Saturday and Sunday to catch a glimpse of the Utes before they head to Mount Panorama for one of their most challenging rounds of the Season.
