Lucky Strike B·A·R Honda driver Jenson Button will head an all-star line-up from the world of motorsport at Autosport International when he opens the show at 9am on Saturday 10 January at the NEC in Birmingham.
Jenson, who last month won the Autosport British Competition Driver of the Year award, will be taking time out from winter testing duties to officially open the motorsport show as well as launching B·A·R's new fan club - Pure Racing. B·A·R's trackside motorhome will also be appearing at the event as part of Autosport International's unique Formula One grid layout.
A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to tour around the team motorhome will be available to those who sign up to the fan club at the show. All fans joining the club over the course of the weekend will also be automatically entered into a draw to win exclusive prizes from the B·A·R memorabilia collection.
Fan club members will receive the official B·A·R magazine, Pure Racing, and will be invited to meet the team, drivers and other club members at an annual open day. As members of Pure Racing, they will also have the opportunity to join the Jenson Button Fan Club at a discounted rate.
For three lucky members, there will be the chance to accompany the team to three Grands Prix in the 2004 season. The winners will get to be part of the team for the weekend, working alongside the B·A·R pit crew at the circuit and getting a behind-the-scenes insight into a top Formula One team.
Jenson commented: "I have been to Autosport International before and saw why so many fans like it - there is a lot to see. I'll be opening the show the day before I begin testing again, so it will be good to meet everyone and help the team start the year by giving something back to the fans. 2004 is going to be very interesting and the show is going to be a good way to get it started."
