A new class has been added to the Michelin Porsche Open Series for 2004 to accommodate the 944 models previously seen in the Super Coupe Cup.

In agreement with the BRSCC, the Porsche Club GB has introduced a new class exclusively for the 944s and more than 10 cars are expected to race regularly in 2004. The 944 contingent, headed by Kevin Eacock, will race on Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tyres.

"The Open Series is the logical home for these cars and their inclusion in the Open is good news for everyone involved," said a spokesperson for the Porsche Open.
