Lister Le Mans entry confirmed - Team News

It was confirmed at the meeting to launch the LMES last Thursday that the Lister LMP900 is one of the 20 cars that has been pre-selected to participate at the 24 Heures du Mans 2004.

The reason for Lister's invitation is our second place in the FIA GT Championship 2003 - although the team name and make of car must remain the same it is possible to change category.  Both the LMP and the GT are Lister Storms so we were able to change our invitation to the LMP 900 category.

The entry has made our plans easier - we do not have to wait until after the Sebring race to see if the ACO would invite us to qualify - with only 48 or 50 cars admitted to the race there are only another 28 places available to be allocated over all 5 categories.  We hope this confirmation will attract sponsors to join the Lister team and enjoy the unique publicity we receive - full details available from Lister!

Two of our partners already promoting their association with the Lister LMP are Scalextric and Airtrack.   The 2004 Scalextric catalogue has just been released with the front and back covers dedicated to images of the Lister Storm LMP - the car will be released in both Standard and Limited Edition Sport models.

Meanwhile, Airtrack has introduced the Lister Racing Club offering exclusive benefits to members - full details are on the back cover of the 2004 Airtrack brochure - airtrack.co.uk

Testing of the LMP will start soon.
