Rod Carman will mount a concerted bid for the Michelin Porsche Club Championship this season in his ex-Paul Tilleard 2.7 Carrera. Having battled for the 2002 title, Carman raced infrequently last season, but won the penultimate race of the year at Donington shortly after acquiring the car.
The Carrera is currently under-going some development work in the hands of Peter Hignett of ABG Motorsport, and will be run by the Cheshire-based team throughout 2004. "I've taken a bit of a gamble with the car against the 3.2 Carreras and the 968s, but it will definitely be a full campaign," says Carman.
Running alongside Carman in the ABG squad will be former MGB racer Adam Egar in the ex-Carman 911SC. Egar tackled selected races last season in the car that previously won the championship title in the hands of Spencer Griffiths.
