Days of Thunder will continue its close association with Channel 4 in2004, with the terrestrial broadcaster moving the championshiphighlights programme into their weekend a.m. sports zone.
The 30-minute programme will be shown around 8.00am on Sunday morningand will feature edited highlights of the racing action, as well asbehind the scenes coverage of all the off track entertainment, includingthe headlining pop and rock artists that will appear at each event.
"Rockingham and PMA TV, the Days of Thunder production company, haveworked closely with Channel 4 over the past two years and I'm extremelypleased with this new move to a Sunday morning slot for the Days ofThunder TV highlights package," said Rockingham CEO Ashley Pover. "Lastyear Days of Thunder attracted over 150,000 people with its mixture ofracing and live music. Channel 4 has recognised this growth and haspresented the series with this new, higher profile programme slot. Witheach of the Days of Thunder events featuring a top pop artist, theprogramming just ahead of Channel 4's T4 show on Sunday morning isexcellent news and will help build awareness of Rockingham with a new,younger audience."

The first Days of Thunder meeting will be held on Sunday 2nd May, witheach of the other five events taking place on the first Sunday of everymonth. Round 1 of this years championship will be shown at its new timeon Channel 4 on Sunday 11th May, with Round 2 from the 2nd May eventbeing shown the following weekend.
