Piers Masarati will make his Daytona debut next month in the Rolex 24 Hours following an invitation from the Auto Assets team. The British youngster will join the team to race a Porsche 911GT3RS alongside American racers Chip Vance, John Stevenson and John Buttermore.
"This is a last minute chance that has come up," explains Masarati. "They needed a driver that knows the Porsche and it is a wonderful opportunity for me." Piers will fly out to Florida on early next week ahead of the January 31/February 1 race.
Upon his return from Daytona, Piers will continue working on his 2004 plans, which centre on competing in the Le Mans Endurance Series.
