Armajaro MSA British Historic Rally - Fabulous response to BHRC opener

A fantastic entry is rapidly gathering for the opening round of the 2004 Armajaro MSA British Historic Rally Championship. With over six weeks still to go until the Alternative Sign Centre Robin Hood Historic Forest Stages on 6/7 March, the entry for the historic section of the rally already stands at more than 75 cars.

The Nottinghamshire event incorporates the opening round of the HRCR Classic Stage Rally Challenge, so all three generations of historic rally car will be in action.

The Historic cars from the pre '68 era (Category 1) will head the field away, and 20 cars are already entered for the Robin Hood, including the Porsche 911 of Dessie Nutt/Geraldine McBride. The similar car of Francis Tuthill will be a major threat to the Irish ace, along with a gaggle of Lotus Cortinas including husband and wife crew Chris and Hilary Green.

The Post-Historic cars (Category 2) from the 1968 – 1974 era already number 45 cars in the Robin Hood entry and the field includes a gaggle of established aces. Rapid Ford Escort Mk1s will be campaigned by David Stokes/Den Goulding, Richard Gower/Carl Williamson, Ray Bellm/Marc Jones and Ernie Graham/Robin Kellard.

Rivalling the Escorts, and likely to be very strong on the fast straights of the Clipstone forest, will be the Datsun 240Z of Dominic Frattaroli and the Porsche 911s of Stuart Rolt/Kevin Devine and Graham Wilson/Steve Dear.

With still a month to go before entries close for the Robin Hood Stages, there is every prospect of the historic entry for the event breaking the 100-car mark.
