National Supersports - Hart completes Chiron squad

Doug Hart is the latest driver to commit to a new Chiron for the 2004 Dunlop National Supersports Championship. Hart will join defending champion Stephen Shanly and Peter Hobday in a three-car works team from Chiron World Sports Cars Ltd.

"The Chiron is an amazing car to drive," reckons Hart, who returned to the championship in 2003 after a break from racing. He may also take in some endurance races in Europe with the LMP3.

Shanly, meanwhile, will defend his 2003 title. "I cannot wait to get back in the car, especially as I missed the end of last season with a neck problem. It's going to be a tough season, but I am up for it," he said.

Chiron boss Henry Nickless is delighted that his superb design is attracting so much demand. "We're looking forward to a very exciting season and have taken on a lot of work. We have set our target at getting the drivers' and Constructors' championships." Chiron is currently negotiating with potential customers in the USA, Greece and Australia.

Hart's car will be backed by Retro Racing Wheels, suppliers and makers of historic split rim racing car wheels for March, Lotus and Brabham and the wheels used on the new Chiron. Support also comes from Wemakeforyou.com, a new sourcing offshoot of the bathroom product manufacturer and engineering company Grange Developments.
