Rocking Robins at Wimbledon

Spedeworth International will  have another laugh at the expense of the Reliant Robin when the three-wheeled cars, favoured by London entrepreneurs Del Boy and Rodney, take to the circuit at Wimbledon Stadium on Sunday, February 1st at 6pm.

Hardly famed for their Formula 1 like handling the Reliant Robins have a very hard time remaining upright as the drivers race around the tight Plough Lane circuit, and rollovers and pile ups are guaranteed as the drivers attempt to wrestle the "plastic pigs" around the track in pursuit of the 'Capital Trophy.'

In complete contrast to the antics of the Reliant Robins the Hot Rods will be competing in the London Championship. The event is open to two classes of the non-contact Hot Rod machines, those that fall within the 'National Hot Rod' specification and race on the current National tyres, or Hoosier H10 or Avon 10 varieties, and those similar to the Spedeworth sanctioned 2.O. Hot Rod formula that race on wheel rims no wider than 8 inches.

Both specifications are devastatingly fast (with National Hot Rods developing over 200bhp) and the drivers have to make split second racing decisions that separate them from victory or disaster as they power around the tight Wimbledon track.

To round off an evening of thrilling and, in the case of the Robins, hilarious racing the Ford Sierra based Lightning Rods will take to the track to deliver their unique blend of door handle to door handle racing.

With a vastly different range of racing on offer the action will be non-stop when the green flag drops at Britain's finest stock car racing circuit. Full details from Spedeworth International on 01420 588020
