Chart topping boy band Blue will be making a special appearance at the first of this year’s Days of Thunder events at Rockingham, near Corby, on Sunday May 2nd.
After arriving at the 52,000 seater stadium, the multi-award winning foursome, Lee, Duncan, Simon and Antony, will be spending the day at Rockingham. In addition to enjoying the racing and making personal appearances, the guys will give a sixty minute live concert on the Rockingham main stage.
They’ll be performing some of the hit songs from their two number one selling albums, such as ‘All Rise’, ‘One Love’, ‘Guilty’ and their soon to be released new single ‘Breathe Easy’.
“We are extremely pleased to have signed such an established and popular group as Blue to play at the first of the 2004 Days of Thunder events,” said Rockingham CEO Ashley Pover. “This event will continue the successful format we established last year, mixing breathtaking motor racing with big names from the music world to deliver maximum entertainment value and wide appeal for our public.”
Rockingham is also offering Blue fans the opportunity to get closer to their heroes with a VIP Front Stage pass. These special passes, costing £10, allow the holder access to the area right in front of the main stage for the live performance. The VIP Front Stage passes need to be purchased with a general admission ticket and are strictly limited, so need to be booked early.
General admission tickets cost £14.95 in advance for adults, £5 for children (5 to 16) and £32 for a family ticket (2 adults, 2 children). Prices are all inclusive, with a grandstand seat to watch the on track action, entrance into the paddock to get closer to the cars and drivers and access to the main stage to watch the Blue concert.
Tickets go on sale at 9am on Monday 2nd February and are available by ringing the 24 hour credit card hotline 08702 647 625.
The Days of Thunder series – featuring 170mph American V8 car racing as seen in the Tom Cruise film of the same name – will take place on the first Sunday of each month, from May to October. Rockingham’s 52,000 seater venue offers 100% visibility from 95% of its seats, which means fans can witness all the action at Europe's fastest circuit.
As well as the live Blue concert, motor racing and treats to be had in the ‘Adrenalin’ merchandise shop, the May 2nd event offers lots of other great attractions: There’ll be pick-up truck racing, an air display and breathtaking on-track shows. People of all ages can enjoy the ‘Adrenalin Alley’ ramp park in conjunction with Corby Wheels, in addition to a funfair. Youngsters can also have fun with Rockingham’s mascot, Rocky the Rhino, the kids’ quad and motor bikes.
