The Grand American Road Racing Association, together with SunTrust Banks have announced a new contingency award program for entries in Grand American's  Rolex Sports Car Series races this season. The program is called the SunTrust Improve Your Position Award.It is designed to reward the one entry in each of the Rolex Series' classes(Prototype, GT and SGS) that makes the greatest advance from officialstarting to official finishing positions.

Beginning with the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona, the awards will be made on thepodium at all of this year's 12 Rolex Series races.

"Part of our mission at SunTrust Bank is to help our customers improve theirfinancial position. So we think this special award is particularlyappropriate to underscore our commitment to Grand American Road Racing andits teams," says SunTrust Bank's Sr. VP of Marketing Services, John Mauney.

To be eligible for the contingency award, each car must display a SunTrustlogo decal. Each winner of the SunTrust Improve Your Position Award willreceive a check for $500 and they will be recognized in the pre-raceceremonies at the next Series event. In the event of a tie, the Award willgo to the entry with the higher finishing position. There will also be aspecial bonus award of $1,000 offered at the conclusion of the Series forthe team from each class that has accumulated the most overall advanced lapsover the entire season. That special bonus award will be presented alongwith a trophy at the year-end banquet.
