Registration forms for the 2004 Formula Renault UK Championship are today being sent out to every one of the category’s teams with potential competitors now having less than four weeks to confirm their participation in the country’s premier single-seater series.
As with previous seasons, registrations are taken strictly on a first-come first-served basis and with a number of key deals already in place, drivers and their sponsors now need to act quickly to ensure they secure a place on the grid for the coming season.
Official Formula Renault UK Championship pre-season testing commences on 3rd/4th March at Snetterton, Norfolk, so the closing date to receive all 2004 registrations has been set by championship organisers at Friday, 20th February.
Formula Renault UK Championship Manager Simon North commented: “We’re expecting the 2004 season to be one of the best, if not the best, in the history of the Formula Renault UK Championship and to that end we’re certain registrations will start to fill up quickly.
“The recent modifications to the car’s aerodynamics and engine will maintain Formula Renault UK’s position at the forefront of junior single-seater racing and therefore enhance the category’s appeal which we’re confident will be borne out when registrations begin to come in.”
North added: “It’s essential for drivers and teams to finalise contracts now and ensure they’re officially registered with us so they can then concentrate on the upcoming pre-season testing programme. Early indications tell us it should be a very healthy grid
