Vitulli Racing to contest 2004 Formula Renault Championship

Rainham-based Vitulli Racing has confirmed its participation in the 2004 Formula Renault UK Championship, following on from the team’s debut in the category during last November’s winter series.

John Vitulli, who heads-up the family-run outfit, has announced the team will prepare one car in the country’s premier junior slicks and wings series for his 21-year old son Michael – the latter having previously competed in Formula Ford before making his Formula Renault UK debut in late 2003.

Commenting on the news, John said: “Having raced in the Winter Championship we’re definitely going to be competing in the main championship this year. We realise we’re a new team and we’re obviously learning so it will take time for us to become more competitive.

“Formula Renault UK is a great championship and we’re up against some very good, very professional teams who know exactly what they’re doing at every circuit they visit. We don’t expect miracles but we’re certainly going to learn as much as we can this year and hopefully make our way up the grid.”
