Ben Reeves (Galhampton, Somerset) has signed a deal with Formula Renault UK Championship team Paston Racing to finalise the Norfolk outfit’s first ever four-car entry into the 2004 season.
The former T-Car Champion, who celebrates his 19th birthday on Sunday, 8th February, contested 15 rounds of last season’s Formula Renault UK Championship with Paston having been associated with the series since his 2001 Winter Championship debut with Manor Motorsport.
Reeves joins Craig Dolby (Melton Mowbray), Rodolfo Gonzalez (Attleborough, Norfolk) and Dan Welch (Fleet, Hampshire) at the North Walsham-based squad. Commenting on his latest signing, Paston Racing’s Rod Blow said: “We’re delighted to have Ben back with us after what was very much a character-building season for him last year.
“We conducted some extensive testing with him last November in Spain and he excelled himself beyond expectation. We’re absolutely delighted to have our 2004 line-up fully confirmed so early and to have successfully expanded to four cars.”
O’Mahony Signs Deal With MotaworldIrish 18-year old Ronayne O’Mahony (Kilcock, Co.Kildare) has been unveiled as Motaworld Racing’s third driver for the upcoming Formula Renault UK Championship season, joining Formula Ford Festival winner Joey Foster (Truro, Cornwall) and Oliver Jarvis (Burwell, Cambridgeshire) at the Chatham-based team.
Alan Waite, Motaworld team boss, commented: “Ronayne tested with us in December where he had a lot to learn but since that time he’s improved massively and we feel he’ll continue to get better at this level during coming tests and throughout the year.
“We first tested him at the beginning of 2003 and we can see a clear difference between that point and the stage he’s at with us at the moment. He’s continuing to test with us in Spain at the moment and we’re confident he’ll be a good addition to the team for the 2004 season.”
O’Mahony made his Formula Renault UK debut last season with Fortec Motorsport after a successful karting career in his native Ireland and at British Championship level in the UK.
