The plans of Juno Racing Ltd have received a major boost with the news that David Jones, Chairman of NEXT, the fashion retailer and joint owner of Noble Cars, has taken a significant shareholding in the emerging company.
Juno competes in the Dunlop National Supersports Championship, and has ambitious plans for the future. The company will be represented in the 2004 championship by Robert Oldershaw junior, racing the SS2 chassis that won twice last season.
"I am always keen to support young people who have talent coupled with the drive and commitment to achieve major success," said David Jones. "I am convinced that Juno Racing, led by Ewan Baldry, has an excellent future ahead of it and if my contribution helps bring that success a bit closer, then I am happy to be involved."
"This is fantastic news," says Baldry. "I have always believed in what I am doing since leaving Williams F1 but to have David’s support and experience behind me is a great boost. Initial plans include continued development and a production run of the successful SS2 chassis. Later in the year, design work will start on a SR2/675 kg car for endurance racing. My aim is for Juno Racing Ltd to become a leading manufacturer of racing cars, we are now in a position to make things happen."
