COVENTRYS Grzegorz Zengota was the Heat 15 hero with a race win to see his side through to a narrow 47-43 victory over Kings Lynn in an eventful Brandon clash.Zengota, who top-scored with 12+1, headed home Stars duo Niels-Kristian Iversen and Rory Schlein with the visitors left to rue a last-bend Heat 14 fall from exciting debutant Andrej Lebedevwhilst Simon Stead was withdrawn after aggravating a shoulder injury.Coventry captain Scott Nicholls said: It was a bit of a mish-mash of teams on both sides, but Kings Lynn are a good outfit and Zengi was fantastic in the last race to beat Iversen, who is super-quick everywhere right now.I managed to get a couple of wins and the team won as well which is the most important thing. We had to do that for the fans, I think if wed come away losing it would have been a big problem.(SPEEDWAY 3)

EDINBURGH suffered a dramatic late collapse and slipped to a 46-47 home Premier League defeat at the hands of Redcar. The Monarchs, despite being without Theo Pijper due to a World longtrack commitment, raced into a 12-point lead after ten heats, but lacked support for No.1 Craig Cook over the closing races. The Bears got back into contention with an 8-1 in Heat 11 with a 5-1 in Heat 14 taking them into the lead, and Ulrich Ostergaard and Aaron Summers shared Heats 13 and 15 behind Cook.Edinburgh boss Alex Harkess said: We were absolutely shocking over the last five races, I cant believe we let a good lead slip. Redcar took their chances and we have no real complaints.

SOMERSET ran up their biggest home score of the season, securing all three Premier League points from a 61-29 win over Rye House.Rebels boss Garry May reflected on an almost complete team performance, where his side ran only two last places including a first-heat disqualification for skipper Jason Doyle.May said: What made it all the more remarkable was the fact Josh (Grajczonek) was far from 100%, though he was much better than the previous night when we lost at Redcar, and Doyley was probably feeling the effects of a particularly busy schedule of late, but despite that we still had more than enough to see off Rye House with, if the truth be told, quite a lot to spare. The manner of our win tonight will give the boys renewed confidence as we look forward to our TV date with Edinburgh on Tuesday night, which has all the makings of it being a classic encounter.(SPEEDWAY 5)

MIKKEL Bech made a successful debut for Plymouth by top-scoring in the Devils 59-34 home win over Glasgow. The Danish teenager dropped just two points, both to Tigers star James Grieves, and the Devils provided eleven of the fifteen heat winners in their best display of the season.Plymouth co-promoter David Short said: We were absolutely delighted with Bechs performance. It was a remarkable achievement to do so well on the first time he had seen the track.Overall it was a good win for us with the whole team riding extremely well.
