TAI Woffinden has declared himself fit to line up for Wolverhampton in their Elite League clash with Peterborough on Monday.Woffinden finished third in Saturdays Grand Prix of Poland and then competed in a league match for Wroclaw on Sunday, despite his shattered collarbone. He said: The pain was intense and hard to manage, but we got through it and I want to thank my mechanics, sponsors and all my supporters here in Poland and back in the UK.Meanwhile Swindon are waiting on the fitness of skipper Hans Andersen, who crashed in Poland yesterday, ahead of their trip to Belle Vue.Robins boss Alun Rossiter said: Obviously if we are without him it will be tough, but were looking around at a few guests to try and replace him if he is ruled out.

EDINBURGH are through to Premier League KO Cup semi-finals after overturning a home defeat with a remarkable win at Newcastle on Sunday. The Diamonds had been victorious by a point at Armadale, but the Monarchs secured a 46-44 win at Brough Park with maximum man Craig Cook holding his nerve to win a last-heat decider, whilst reserve Max Fricke added a vital 10+1.Edinburgh boss Alex Harkess said: With five heats to go we mapped out what we needed from each remaining heat, and the riders responded and did exactly as we wanted. A great performance.Newcastle manager George English said: We lost some silly points where we shouldnt have here and there, but its over now so we wish Edinburgh well for the semi-final and congratulate them on a fine performance.

WORKINGTON will take a six-point lead to Somerset for the second leg of their Knockout Cup semi-final on Tuesday after a 48-42 win at Derwent Park.Richard Lawson scored a 15-point maximum for the Comets in an incident-packed meeting, with the Rebels working hard to remain in contention.Workington boss Tony Jackson said: The match was as tough as we expected and clearly we would have liked a bigger lead to take into the second leg as the Rebels are pretty formidable around their home track, although last weeks TV match showed that they can be beaten. In these matches no matter what lead you have you always want more, but we will go into the second leg with a positive attitude and see where that takes us. Both Richard Lawson and Rene Bach rode very well around there in the Premier League Pairs at the end of last month, so if they can build on that experience and pass on tips to the other team members then who knows what can happen on the night. It is certainly not over yet, it is merely half-time!

STOKES 48-42 defeat at Buxton on Sunday mathematically confirmed the Isle of Wight as winners of the National Trophy.Potters boss Malcolm Vasey was left to rue the loss of impressive reserve Lee Payne after an horrific crash with the Hitmens Tom Woolley which resulted in both riders going to hospital for checkswhilst Liam Carr made an impressive debut for the home side with 13 points.Vasey said: The team worked very hard but we did throw a couple of points away in certain races and that was very disappointing. I feel had we not lost Lee Payne then we might have been taking more away from the meeting especially as hed already got two race wins under his belt. I guess well wait to see how hes feeling tomorrow (Monday) after his nasty crash before deciding what to do about Kings Lynn on Wednesday.

MILDENHALL confirmed runners-up spot in the National Trophy with a 54-39 win over Kentbut are looking to improve for their league title defence.Josh Bates (13) and captain Dan Halsey (12) top-scored for the Fen Tigers against the Kings, but chairman Kevin Jolly wants to see the whole team firing in future.Jolly said: We need to get our reserves going sooner rather than later with the League getting underway, and Liam (Rumsey) has an engine with Chris (Louis) this week as we look to get him going. Next Sunday we have a big meeting in the League with the Isle of Wight visiting, but we also have a training/practice day on Saturday where hopefully all the team will be in attendance and we can get any problems ironed out and set-ups sorted ready for Sunday.(FIXTURES)
