DNF for Johnny Blackshaw at Knockhill

Accident Advice Solicitors supported rider Johnny Blackshaw had another difficult weekend at Knockhill circuit in round five of the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 class after a small technical problem forced him out of the race.

Johnny had a tough weekend at the Scottish circuit and once again the British weather caused issues for the youngster. With only Friday being dry it was the only time the Accident Advice team had to try and get a set up on the Kawasaki as the heavens opened on the Saturday which unfortunately saw Johnny not qualify for the main race.

He was entered into the last chance qualifying race which he felt confident for after making a huge break through on a set up issue which has caused a problem all season. He was keen also to get some more track time under his belt with the race, sadly on lap one water got into the kill switch which blew a fuse and his race was drastically cut short and his time in Scotland was over.

Johnny Blackshaw - "This year has certainly been a tough learning year for us and Knockhill was sadly no different as a 5p fuse cost me racing. I'm really gutted and it's really hard in the short time we get to find the right set up then get a quick lap in.

We did make some big stops forward this weekend however, we found an issue with the forks that have been troubling me all season but with the rain on Saturday we've not had chance yet to test out the solution in the dry. I am hoping to get to some track before Snetterton and get myself a good base set up on the bike and hopefully start moving this season in the right direction.

We need a little bit of luck now the weather turned against us again on the Saturday like it did at Thruxton for us and is certainly making my first year in the Stock 1000 class a difficult one. I want to really push forward now and try and push for some strong results at the remaining rounds of the series. Obviously it's frustrating but I also have to remember it's my first year and I've no data set up for any of the rounds or tracks we have been to so far. I'm desperate for a good result and hopefully things will turn a corner now."

In the British Superbike class the Quattro Plant Kawasaki team are still running the Accident Advice Solicitors logo and Chris Walker secured two stunning fifth places in the two main Superbikes races of the day.
