Eurosport to air Le Mans and WEC until 2016

Eurosport has signed a new three year deal with the Automobile Club de l'Ouest for the live broadcast rights to the Le Mans 24 Hours race in 2014, 2015 and 2016.The pan-European broadcaster already had a deal in place to broadcast this year's race, which takes place this weekend.As with the 2013 race, the next three editions will be covered live in their entirety. The new deal will also see live coverage of free practice and qualifying sessions and the continuation of its 'Le Mans 24 Minutes' magazine programme.The deal covers Eurosport, Eurosport 2 and Eurosport Asia-Pacific, as well as the broadcasters digital platforms.

Eurosport has also signed a deal with Le Mans Endurance Management to broadcast the final hour of all other World Endurance Championship (WEC) races live until 2016. The championship, which is in its second season, visits the US, Japan, Brazil and Bahrain as well as hosting races at Spa-Francorchamps and Silverstone.Jean-Thierry Augustin, the recently-installed chief executive of Eurosport Group, said: "Le Mans 24 Hours is the most famous car racing event in history and one of the highlights of our programming. Viewers will not miss a minute of the race wherever they are, with our round-the-clock live coverage on air, online and on mobile."He added: "They will also enjoy unique editorial extras brought each year by our teams on site. The extension of our long-standing relationship with ACO also enables us to guarantee fans the very best of endurance racing throughout the whole season with the eight rounds of the FIA WEC."
