Britain’s premier motor racing championship announces next season’s race datesThe calendar for the 2014 MSA British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) has been confirmed today (14 September) with the country's most popular motor racing series set to visit nine of the UK’s premier motor sport venues.With the championship currently enjoying huge successes both on and off the track, series organiser TOCA has produced a stabilised calendar with a proven formula for next season. In keeping with the current campaign the BTCC will visit the same superb venues in an identical chronological order, with the Brands Hatch Indy and GP circuits book-ending the season. The calendar will again comprise of 30 races across ten events, with three races of equal distance taking place on each scheduled weekend.From the south of England to the heart of Scotland, the BTCC’s huge geographical reach will again provide teams, sponsors and partners with high profile marketing opportunities. A vast proportion of the population will also get the chance to see the series at their local circuit with no fewer than eight counties hosting events and many neighbouring areas also benefitting from the BTCC’s huge appeal.Further to the confirmation of the 2014 calendar, the BTCC has also announced that its annual Media Day – which launches the new season and includes the only official pre-season test – will again take place at Donington Park after a hugely successful event at the Leicestershire venue earlier this year. This season-launching Media Day will take place on Tuesday 18th March 2014.Every race weekend will be screened live and in high definition on ITV4, as well as the ITV website.
