SportsandYou back in GTSPRINT at Imola

SPORTS&YOU BACK IN GTSPRINT FROM IMOLA , SETS SIGHTS ON EXCITING FINAL STINT OF 2013

PAULO FERREIRA AND HIS SQUAD ARE SET TO IMPRESS AT IMOLA AND VALLELUNGA

With just more than two weeks to go before the penultimate round of the 2013 GTSPRINT INTERNATIONAL SERIES, set for September 29th at Imola, the Sports&You team announced to have entered the round. By lining-up in the final stint of the season, they are set to provide the crowds with some true excitement starting at the historical Italian venue.

After having made their debut earlier this year at Portimao with one win for Josè Pedro Fontes and Miguel Barbosa, the Portuguese-based squad is eager to be back at Imola where Team Manager Paulo Ferreira is aiming to field his Mercedes SLS racecars.

“For us, GTSPRINT was an immediate fit - told Paulo Ferreira - Definitely it's one of the most interesting championship in Europe, and it experienced a very quick growth. Before Portimao, I had heard several teams talk about this series in the paddocks, but for some of them it were only words. We aim at actually doing things. We're throwing this challenge not only to the regular challengers, but also to the potential new teams as we hope to battle with them. In Italy, we will field the Coimbra-Silva duo on one car and we are in talks to finalise the line-up for the second car. We are also working for Vallelunga, a race that became a classic in our sport. But currently we are focused on the September 29th weekend where we hope to repeat the good results scored at Portimão”.

The Stuttgart-built Mercedes SLS AMG, famous for its gullwing door setup, is joining a varied pack in GTSPRINT also including many Ferrari 458 Italia racers, the Porsche 997, Corvette Z06 R and Audi R8 LMS models (an Audi is currently leading the series with Thomas Schöffler), plus the Maserati Granturismo MC GT3, Lamborghini Gallardo and Ginetta G50 cars.
