The Motor Sports Association (MSA) is delighted to announce that it has selected the Le Cont MSA 04 intermediate as the Bambino kart class tyre, with effect from 1 January 2014.
The tyre will be homologated by the MSA. The announcement follows a tender process launched in August 2012 to find a supplier for the Bambino tyres and another for the engine. The engine has already been confirmed as the Comer C50.
Nick Bunting, MSA Chief Executive, said: “The Le Cont MSA 04 tyre will help us to take the Bambino kart class forward and build on its solid foundations as a popular first step into motor sport. Combined with the Comer C50 engine, the new tyre should ensure a bright future for the class, with parity of performance in all weather conditions for a fair cost.”
Dan Parker of Zip Kart, Le Cont’s UK distributor, said: “We have worked closely with the Le Cont during this tender process to produce this brand new all-weather tyre . In testing the tyre has delivered very consistent behaviour in both wet and dry conditions as well as great durability. We feel this is a fantastic tyre for the new class allowing drivers one tyre for all conditions.”
