Malcolm Rathmell Sport, Sherco Trials Round-up September

Sherco UK Importers are absolutely delighted with their 2013 trials season which culminated in Richard Sadler winning the very popular S3 series with one round remaining and Chris Pearson is lying in 2nd and Luke Walker in 4th place, so fingers crossed for them both in the last round.Last Sunday Sherco MRS rider Darren Brice was crowned the 2013 British Expert Champion. After a very solid and extremely consistent season Darren never really faltered throughout the year and was well at home with the non-stop rules, using his experience to bring home the Championship.Popular Yarm rider Tom Affleck improved on his 2012 result taking runner up spot in the Championship and Josh Woods finished off what was an extremely good result for MRS riders finishing in fourth overall position. Emma Bristow put in an amazing result to finish 6th in the Expert Class and, after such a good year, she is looking forward to improving on that result next year.In the Youth Class it was a close run affair with MRS Sherco rider James Stones eventually finishing in third but only two marks off the win. James has really come on in leaps and bounds this year and is really looking forward to his first Scott Trial next month. All preparations are now well under way for the Sherco Weekend Extravaganza which takes place at Gouthwaite House Farm, Pateley Bridge, N. Yorks., HG3 5AD on Saturday, 5th October. All models of Sherco will be on test from 80 through to 125, 250, 290 and 305 and anyone wishing to book a ride can contact their nearest dealer or ring Malcolm Rathmell Sport direct on 01423 772885. Testing will take place from 9-30 and finish at 4pm. Sherco Enduro bikes also available to test, please call for details. After testing of bikes all dealers and riders will converge on Harefield Hall Hotel, Pateley Bridge, N. Yorks., HG3 5AD for the usual party and although tickets are restricted for the main presentation and buffet anyone is very welcome to come along. Hot food and drinks will be available from the hotel throughout the night.Following on from this the Ripon MCC will be running a Restricted Trial on Sunday, 6th October near Harrogate and regulations for this can be downloaded off the club's website at www.riponmotorcycleclub.co.uk All riders are welcome but it is advised to enter the event beforehand to make sure of a ride. All classes are catered for and it should bring the Sherco weekend to a very good conclusion.Lastly, we would like to say a big thanks to Ricky Wiggins for all his efforts on behalf of both MRS and RCM this year. Ricky is such a committed rider and has constantly improved throughout the year but a freak accident at the Manx Two Day, whilst holding joint first place, has left him with a completely ruptured ACL. This, in effect, means that Ricky will be out of action for some months and everyone at MRS and all the team riders wish Ricky a really speedy recovery. Ricky will be joining us at the Open Day which we are extremely grateful for as he has been such a solid member of the MRS Sherco team this year.
