BTCC ace Tom Onslow-Cole will once again drive for exhaust manufacturer Milltek at the European Time Attack Masters event at Zandvoort over the weekend on the 5th-6th October.

Milltek and Onslow-Cole have enjoyed a close working relationship for many years, with the Surrey ace doubling as a brand ambassador and development driver for the Derbyshire based engineering firm. Onslow-Cole relies on Milltek during his ‘day job’ in the Airwaves BTCC Focus, but for the ETAM round he will be returning to an old friend, the KPM prepared Golf 6 Time Attack car that he used to such great effect at the Tuner GP earlier in the year – netting a class win and a 5th overall, splitting Corvettes and Porsches on the time sheets!

With a few extra tweaks since that event, namely more power and an even tricker diff, Tom is feeling confident about the trip to Holland. “With around 425bhp and 1200kgs, it’s not the fastest car on paper,” he smiles. “But the way the KPM guys and Milltek’s techs set it up, it’s a very effective bit of kit that’s very easy to drive on the limit. We should do well in the dry, but if it rains, we could really have a field day! It’s a great event this one, and I’m hoping a can do a little bit of giant killing with the Golf again.”

As an interesting aside – and indication of just how well made Milltek’s systems are, the system used on the fire-breathing race spec machine isn’t some custom fabricated unobtanium masterpiece, but simply the same hand-finished non-magnetic stainless steel road legal system that any enthusiast can walk into their Milltek dealer and buy off the shelf. Talk about faith in your product!
