Rising Star Robertson Determined To End BRDC 4 Season In Winning Ways

Race-winning BRDC Formula 4 Championship competitor Charlie Robertson is going all out for a return to the top step of the podium when the final three rounds of the 2013 season take place at Donington Park Grand Prix Circuit this coming weekend, 28th/29th September.Impressive throughout his first year in single-seaters, the 16-year-old from Whyteleafe has had to endure some terrible misfortune along the way too which has impacted his championship placing going into the category finale.Despite being 77 points shy of the series lead in fifth position, mathematically Charlie is still within reach of becoming the inaugural BRDC Formula 4 Champion. He is realistic enough to know, though, he will need to rely on some mistakes or misfortune for his rivals for that to happen.Rather than even considering the title picture, the HHC Motorsport driver is instead focused on delivering a consistent weekend’s racing and mounting a challenge for race victories to end the 2013 campaign on a real high.“We’re really determined to try and win at least one of the races next weekend and to be on the podium in all three if we can”, said the British Racing Drivers’ Club ‘Rising Star’, “Last time out at Snetterton we had a consistent weekend, but just not quite enough for the podium. I want to put that right at Donington, get back in the top three and take away some great results.“It’s been a strong year for me and for HHC, we’ve proven we have the pace to win and other than a few car problems along the way, and some other bad luck, we’ve been very consistent. You always want to end the season as strongly as you can, so I’m going all out for wins next weekend.”Making a good start to his debut season in ‘slicks and wings’ single-seaters during the first three rounds of the season at Silverstone back in April, Charlie scorched to his first podium with second place in round four at Brands Hatch Indy Circuit. Adding a second podium in round five, he then took his maiden victory in round six with a superb performance.Continuing his podium momentum into the Snetterton event in June, he was second in round seven and won again in round nine only for that victory to be expunged by officials with a contentious judicial decision – based on the way the gurney flap on his rear wing was mounted. He hit back though with podiums at the next three events and is keen to boost his tally mere days from now.Donington Park qualifying will take place at 09.35 on Saturday, 28th September, with the first race of the weekend following at 16.00. On Sunday, 29th September, round 23 will get underway at 10.00 with round 24 scheduled to commence at 14.30.Provisional 2013 BRDC Formula 4 Championship Standings (after Rd21):5th Charlie Robertson, 320pts
