Isaac Tutumlu prepares for International GT Open at Monza

Tutumlu carried out a test at Monza yesterday, the track where he is going to compete in the penultimate meeting of the International GT Open next week. His lap times were very competitive and the Barzani Racing driver feels optimistic about his chances for this new challenge.

Tutumlu, born in Barcelona but of Kurdish heritage, shared his Autorlando Sport Porsche 997 GT3 R with Greece´s Dimitris Deverikos, his teammate in Italy once again. Wednesday´s work has proved to be extremely positive and prospects for next race meeting are rather good, as Tutumlu is eyeing another podium finish. He has secured podium finishes four times, including Portimao, Jerez and Spa-Francorchamps.

“Work done today has been very positive, because our target is to arrive to Monza as strong as possible. We´re approaching title-deciding rounds and I want to keep fighting until the end” he explained. Tutumlu stressed that “my time on track was slightly lower than my teammate Dimitris. Anyway I´ve also competed here before, and it was important for Dimitris to put experience under his belt. My best lap time was quite close to fastest driver on track today, and under the circumstances it was a good result. This meeting at Monza is going to be tough, mainly for Porsche-built cars. We will have to cope with severe tire wear and, finally, be careful on kerbs because of they may damage our car and leave us with no options in the races”.

Tutumlu is 6th in the overall classification with four races left.
