Hankook rain tyres defy weather for Imola Superstars

Hankook and the SUPERSTARS WORLD were rolling up the starting line in Imola this weekend, where Hankook's Ventus Race tyres successfully braved ferocious rain. The Ventus rain tyres provided reliable performance during dynamic duels for podium finishes as the SUPERSTARS and GT SPRINT pilots had to master the historic Formula 1 track in atrocious weather conditions. Top drivers Vitantonio Liuzzi, Gianni Morbidelli and Thomas Schöffler acknowledged the tyres' consistently high performance, safety and balanced handling characteristics that allowed for top speeds of up to 260 km/h even in pouring rain.

Apart from mechanical stress caused by the high sided kerbs and abrasive track surface in Imola, hydroplaning turned out to be the challenge of this race weekend. Current GT SPRINT Championship leader Thomas Schoffler:

"Even though there was a lot of water on the track, I had a lot of confidence in the tyres from the very beginning. They have a good grip level even though there was aquaplaning in between but still I was able to work the tyres really well."...
