Motors TV Weekend Highlights

5/6 October

Motors TV has a feast of live action in store this weekend as several series reach the business end of the season.

Chief among these is British GT. The championship battle simply couldn't be closer, with Andrew Howard holding a half-point advantage over Ecurie Ecosse duo Oliver Bryant and Marco Attard. They're joined by a number of other title contenders for what should be a cracking conclusion at Donington Park - and we're live from lights to flag. What's more, we'll also air the VW Racing Cup and Ginetta GT5 support races from the Leicestershire circuit, making for a stellar line-up of Britain's finest.

If you prefer your burgers super-sized and your eagles bald you'll want tune into our live NASCAR Nationwide Series coverage from Kansas Speedway, a 1.5-mile tri-oval, where the average qualifying speed tops 180mph. It’s as close as you like at the top of the standings with Sam Hornish Jr heading Austin Dillon by a slender four points. Can old-hand Hornish or bright-young-thing Dillon seize an advantage in Kansas.

Staying Stateside, we've got delayed American Le Mans Series action on Sunday night as the series contests it's penultimate round before merging with Grand-Am.

The European F3 Open and International GT Open contest their penultimate rounds of the campaign at Italian Grand Prix circuit Monza this weekend and we're live throughout all the action. In the F3 category Sandy Stukiv holds a slender advantage over Ed Jones, while things are rather less open for GT honours with ex-Formula 1 racer Andrea Montermini holding a commanding lead.

Bike racing fans are well catered for too, with live World Supersport Championship action from French venue Magny-Cours where Brit Sam Lowes will be hoping to seal his maiden series crown.

And if you fancy something a bit different, why not check out The Racing Insiders, an all-new magazine show looking the best of the week's motorsport action Stateside and across the globe in the company of Bill Wood, Peter Keane and Jim Daniels. Episode one airs throughout the week, including a late-night showing on Saturday.
