The International GT Open event at Monza this weekend will be a definint moment in Tutumlu title aspirations as there are just four races left of the season.
The Barzani Racing Team driver knows he is approaching a key moment this season, and his results in Italy will define title chances in the GTS classification. T
Tutumlu is teaming up with Dimitris Deverikos once again sharing the Autorlando Sport Porsche 997 GT3 R and with more podiums in sight the Italian team and their drivers visited Monza last week and completed a positive test session
“Definitively this is already the end of our season in the GT Open, as there are just other two meetings ahead, Monza and Barcelona. Anyway I think Monza is even more important, because we need to keep alive our title chances as much as possible for arriving to my home race, at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, well placed”, Tutumlu explains. He also points out that “our test there last Wednesday was important, because we worked on the car and my teammate Dimitris had a good first outing. For me Monza is a track where I´ve raced on several occasions. I like it and our options are quite good. As always it will be almost mandatory to do a good work in qualifying sessions because, if you have a good position on the grid, you avoid risks at the beginning”.
Finally Tutumlu, who is 6th overall at this moment, stressed “let´s see how the weather works next weekend, maybe rain could be back, just like Spa. For me rain is always a good new, I´m fast and our car is quite good under these circumstances. So…”.
There will be two qualifying sessions on Saturday morning, with race one the same day at 16.15 (CET). Race two is due to start at 12.12 (CET) on Sunday.
