Narain Karthikeyan on the attack in Brno Auto GP practice 1

Narain Karthikeyan clocked the fastest lap of the day so far at Brno in the first practice session for the last Auto GP round of the 2013, currently underway at the Czech venue. The Indian, who is the last driver in points to have a chance for the title, logged a personal fastest lap of 1'44"514, beating his Super Nova International team-mate Vittorio Ghirelli.

The Italian, who is currently leading the overall charts, edged Hungarian Tamas Pal Kiss (Zele Racing) and Romanian 18-year-old Robert Visoiu (Ghinzani Motorsport). Josef Kral, also driving for Zele Racing, left a strong impression at his Auto GP debut, as he proved quick and consistent throughout his runs. Andrea Roda also put his name at the front end of the charts for Virtuosi UK. Roda is hoping for a rebound after a testing crash that made his life particularly tough at Donington.

Dutchman Daniel De Jong (MP Motorsport), coming from GP2 competition, took seventh place in front of Yoshitaka Kuroda (Euronova Racing) and Italian Kevin Giovesi (Ghinzani Motorsport). The Japanese racer was slowed down by an exhaust issue while fellow championship contender Sergio Campana rounded out the top-10.
