It was a stunning race weekend for 21-year-old Luke Mossey from Royston, Cambridgeshire at Silverstone circuit. The youngster was on fine form all weekend on the Teccare Profile Triumph and took a great third place in the opening race on Saturday and went even better in the main race on Sunday taking his first ever British Supersport win. After breaking some vertebrae in his back at Oulton Park in July he made his return to Assen gaining some solid results but he was much fitter coming to Silverstone and was eager for strong race results at the circuit that cut short his season last season, where he suffered a broken heel. He had a good qualifying session and ended up on the front row in third place; he rode a really strong race and claimed the final podium spot.He was feeling strong for the second race on Sunday and he was placed on the second row, in fourth place. He struggled off the start and was lying in sixth after the opening lap, the safety car was deployed on lap four and re-entered the pits at the end of lap six. He got the drive as the car pulled in and he was soon locked in an extremely fierce battle with Billy McConnell and Alastair Seeley for the win. It was tooth and nail for the six lap sprint and Luke finally came out with his first Supersport win, taking the win from McConnell by 0.1.Luke Mossey - "I'm speechless; it's such an amazing feeling to finally win my first race and to be able to say now I'm a race winner. I loved every minute of it and I knew they were close to me on the last lap as I could hear them; I just tried so hard to keep focused and just continue what I was doing. My back was really hurting in the final few laps but I knew if I could keep the pace I was doing I'd be able to keep fighting for either a podium but I was hopeful of the win. It was such a tough race them boys are tough, they give nothing and I really had to work hard to keep the place at the front. It's such an amazing feeling to win a race like that in one of the best Championships in the world I'm so pleased it's just mega. After the last year I have had I needed this more than anything, I crashed at Silverstone last year and smashed my heel, took half my finger off at the first round at Brands Hatch then broke my back it was about time my luck changed and it came good for me. It's such a great feeling and hope my luck has now taken a turn for the better.I'd like to thank everyone at the Teccare Profile Triumph team, all my personal sponsors and obviously my Dad it's just great but without their help this wouldn't have happened! Roll on Brands Hatch!"
