Round 7: Colin McRae Forest Stages, 5 October
David Bogie made motor sport history by winning the Colin McRae Forest Stages and becoming the first driver to take five consecutive MSA Scottish Rally Championship titles.
The 26-year-old from Dumfries, co-driven by Kevin Rae, powered to victory more than two minutes ahead of Mile Faulkner and navigator Peter Foy. Dave Weston and Dave Robson were third, a further 22 seconds adrift.
“We went into the last stage with absolutely the wrong tyre – it was a complete gamble – so we just drove it over the limit and never backed off,” said Bogie. "Towards the end Euan [Thorburn] picked up a puncture and that allowed us to take the win. But I really feel we deserved it – I felt it was our day.”
