Carrera Cup GB 2014-15 Scholarship finalists announced

The four finalists for the 2014/15 Porsche Carrera Cup GB Scholarship Programme have been announced. The drivers going forward for evaluation are Ignas Gelzinis, Ryan Ratcliffe, Josh Webster and Ross Wylie.

The four talented young drivers will now take part in an intensive evaluation programme at the Porsche Experience Centre as well as driving the 911 GT3 Cup car. The winner will be the driver who shows the best mix of natural talent, potential, presentation and people skills and overall drive and commitment. The selected Scholarship driver will win £80,000 per year towards their 2014 and 2015 Porsche Carrera Cup GB budgets.The four finalists are:Ignas Gelzinis: aged 22 from Kaunas, Lithuania2013 season: Renault UK Clio CupRyan Ratcliffe: aged 20 from Llanelli, South Wales2013 season: British GT Championship in GT4 categoryJosh Webster: aged 19 from Stowmarket, Suffolk2013 season: GP3 SeriesRoss Wylie: aged 22 from Dumfries, Scotland2013 season: Volkswagen Scirocco-R CupMarion Barnaby, from the Porsche Cars GB Motor Sport Department, said that the standard of applicant had been very high. “We have been overwhelmed with the quantity and quality of applications and selecting just four finalists from so many strong candidates has been a very difficult process. I would like to thank everyone who applied for their interest in the Carrera Cup GB.”
