EDINBURGH will take a narrow two-point advantage to Somerset for the Premier League Grand Final decider on Monday. The Monarchs were limited to a 45-43 win from the first leg at Armadale, Craig Cook top-scoring on 14 points – but Hungarian rider Jozsef Tabaka suffered a compound fracture to his fibia shin bone after a Heat 9 crash.Edinburgh boss Alex Harkess said: “Jozsef was a big loss and we hope he will make a full recovery, but the truth is we didn’t ride well enough anyway and we will need to pull out all the stops in the second leg on Monday.”Somerset manager Garry May said: “The boys rode superbly, just as they have done throughout the season. But we are only at the halfway stage of affairs and just as we have done an excellent job here at Armadale, there is nothing to stop Edinburgh doing the same back at our place on Monday, so we cannot afford for any complacency to set in.”(SPEEDWAY 2)

DUDLEY and the Isle of Wight have confirmed dates for the National League KO Cup Final – which is scheduled to be the last item of 2013 team silverware to be decided. The Heathens, who have already taken the league title, will host the first leg at Monmore Green on Tuesday with the return taking place at Smallbrook Stadium on Wednesday.Dudley boss Will Pottinger said: “I’m sure the terraces will be packed at Monmore Green because the lads will have the league trophy to display which is great for everyone. “But we can’t afford to celebrate too much because we have a job to do in the Cup Final. I want to ensure all the lads are fully focussed and we just want to see it through.”
