Round 8: Armstrong Galloway Hills Rally, 27 October

Armstrong Galloway Hills Rally sponsor Jock Armstrong took his first win of the year on the season-closing event alongside co-driver John Richardson.

Five-time champions David Bogie and Kevin Rae led until the end of the last stage but were forced to pull over en route to the finish in Castle Douglas when the oil warning light appeared in their Ford Focus WRC.

For his part, Armstrong was delighted to take his sixth win on his local event. “A win is a win in my book and I couldn't be happier,” he said. "I've had a bad year – without any success in the Scottish championship – so this is very welcome.”
