Pirelli MSA Welsh Rally Championship

Round 7: Cambrian Rally, 19 October

Connor McCloskey became the first driver from Northern Ireland to win the Pirelli MSA Welsh Rally Championship title when he claimed maximum points on the Cambrian Rally.

McCloskey, co-driven by Francis Regan, said: “It’s been a great year for us and something to build on for the future. If the Irish Sea wasn’t between us we would love to do it every year. The stages are great and the organisers are great.”

Meanwhile Alex Allingham clinched the championship’s Production Car honours, while his 23-year-old navigator, Chris Williams, won the Junior Co-Driver title. “It’s a relief to say that we have got some titles under our belts after two long hard years without anything,” said Williams.
