Tiago Monteiro aiming for a good result in China

The World Touring Car Championship, WTCC, is now entering the Asian phase of the 2013 season that will see the teams race in both China and Macau in November. Honda driver Tiago Monteiro heads into the penultimate round this weekend with both determination and desire to finish the season in the best possible way.

In a race where more than 30 cars will be present at the start, the Portuguese driver is hoping to use his experience of the Shanghai International Circuit to join in the fight at the front, however, he knows it won't be an easy task "It will not be an easy weekend," warns the official Honda driver. "Even though I love this track, it is not necessarily favorable to the Honda Civic. The circuit has a lot of straight lines and in addition to that, we have a ballast of 40kg. It is clear that this will be detrimental to the competitiveness of the Civic."

According to Tiago, JAS Motorsport and Honda have to "pull on all the benefits of the development program we have put in place. Scoring is certainly our goal. I am aware that we cannot have excessive ambitions due to the circumstances but it will minimize the damage. That said, I will take the wheel with the same motivation as usual," concluded the Portuguese, who recently announced his new partnership with Honda for 2014.

Eurosport live broadcast the entire Shanghai weekend with qualifying on Saturday, November 2nd at 6:00 am and the racing on Sunday, November 3rd at 7:30 am and 8:15.
