The winning teams and drivers from the 2013 Porsche Carrera Cup GB and Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge GB were celebrated during the annual awards evening at the Savill Court Hotel on Saturday (2 November 2013).Over 200 guests were present to celebrate the 2013 season in style as overall champions Michael Meadows and Justin Sherwood won the major prizes. Carrera Cup champion Meadows and GT3 Cup Challenge champion Sherwood were among four winners to take away road-going Porsches as part of their prize package. Meadows, Victor Jimenez (Pro-Am1 champion) and Paul Mace (from team champions Samsung Smart Motorsport) all drove away in brand new 911s, while Sherwood collected a Cayman S as his prize. All four winners will have the use of their cars for a year.Other drivers from the Carrera Cup GB to collect a share of over £60,000 in end-of-season prize money included Jonas Gelzinis, Rory Butcher, Dan De Zille, George Brewster and Peter Smallwood. Jimenez was announced as the ‘most improved driver of the season’. Meanwhile, Steven Liquorish and Kelvin Fletcher joined Sherwood in being applauded for their success in the GT3 Cup Challenge. Team Parker Racing collected the team award for the GT3 Cup Challenge and a cheque for £5000.Michael Meadows (overall Carrera Cup champion): “It’s been a great season. Winning the award for the most improved driver is very special for me.”Paul Mace (team manager Samsung Smart Motorsport):“We performed on all levels and ticked all the boxes. I hope it will happen again in 2014.”Finally, the BARC Marshals’ Fund benefited by over £1600 from the raffle organised during the evening.
