Rebellion Racing on the third row at WEC 6 Hours of Shanghai

Nicolas Prost and Mathias Beche secured the fifth fastest average laptime of 1:51.204 during the qualifying session for tomorrow's 6 Hours of Shanghai, placing the #12 Lola-Toyota on the third row of the grid.

The Swiss team will be aiming for another strong result after two podiums secured in the last three rounds of the FIA World Endurance Championship.

The fifth fastest lap in the qualifying session allows the REBELLION Racing team to record an additional «pole position» in the FIA Endurance LMP1 Team Trophy, the seventh in seven races this year.

The start of the 6 Hours of Shanghai race will be at 11h00 local time, Saturday 9th of November.

Nicolas Prost : «We did a good job with the car today, we improved the setup the right way. Our average best time is good compared to the works cars on this long track. We have no other competition to have a precise idea of our level. I could have pushed a bit more on the tyres leaving there two or three tenths. Mathias drove really well in the session especially in his last lap. »

Mathias Beche : «We were not too confident before the the qualifying session, as we had some issues in the morning and the red flag shortened the work time this afternoon, but the team worked really well to provide us a good car. The factory cars are in front of us but the gap is not that big. I want to congratulate Nico for his laptimes, we can be pleased with our performance. »

Bart Hayden – REBELLION Racing Team Manager : « The team, Nico, Mathias and Andrea did a good job in qualifying to extract the best from the car. Our pace in qualifying is better than we might have expected after not quite getting it right earlier in the day during the practice sessions. We are now looking forward to the race to achieve a good result tomorrow.»
