Audi wins 6 Hours of Shanghai and secures WEC Drivers' Championship

The 6 Hours of Shanghai provided spectators with a battle to the chequered flag today, with the No.1 Audi R18 e-tron quattro of Lotterer-Treluyer-Fassler taking the victory ahead of the No.7 Toyota Racing TS030 Hybrid of Wurz-Lapierre.

Third place today for the No.2 Audi crew of McNish-Kristensen-Duval was enough to provisionally secure them the FIA World Endurance Drivers’ Championship. Rebellion Racing’s No.12 Lola Toyota was fourth overall at the finish.

In LMP2 G-Drive Racing ORECA 03 Nissan took its third win of the season ahead of the No.24 OAK Racing Morgan Nissan, the class providing a close battle throughout.

In LMGTE Pro it was Aston Martin Racing’s day from start to finish and it was the No.97 of Mucke-Turner which won by the narrowest of margins over its sister No.99 of Senna-Lamy-Stanaway. In the Am category it was the No.81 Ferrari of 8Star Motorsport which secured class victory after the long-time leading Aston Martin ground to a halt in the 4th hour. The No.76 IMSA Matmut Porsche was second in class.
