Facu Regalia, from Argentina, finished second on his second test day at the wheel of a GP2 car at Yas Marina Circuit.
In first practice session Regalia was at a high level and he ended the season as 2nd fastest – 1:49.764. At night, despite the fact that he was the only driver to have only a set of new tyres, he was in top-5 over the season. At the end, in his last attempt of improving, a mistake prevented him from beating his previous 1:49.373. By the end, Regalia completed 44 laps at this track.
“In the morning the session was perfect, and we knew how to improve our set-up, working hard with my engineer Emiliano. When we were on new tires, the time came easily and finished 2nd, still with small details to improve”, Regalia explained. In yesterday´s second session, he emphasized that “we were back in top-5 without problems, always testing new things. It was a shame because on my last flying lap I made a mistake and our chances to fight for pole position were over. I didn´t get used to newest-up changes and it was impossible to capitalize our options”.
Regalia also pointed out that “Addax was happy with me at the end of the day. Sectors proved we were quick enough, and on the whole yesterday was positive. I feel happy with my performance as well. These days were good to put more mileage under my belt with the Dallara GP2/11. Now we need to keep working out of the car to get the budget in order to participate in GP2 next year. I´ll be back to Argentina next week”.
His most immediate commitment takes place on Monday, when Regalia will visit London to test McLaren F1 simulator
