Villorba Corse set the pace at Barcelona GT Open

In yesterday's  GT Open finale the Ferrari 458 of Montermini-Schiro is the fastest supercar  but fails to finish race-1 because of a contact with a rival car. The Italian team will try to take revenge in Sunday's race-2, which will be broadcasted live by many European TV channels at 11:55

The squad led by Raimondo Amadio has clinched the Gt Open title in Monza one month ago but still wants to collect more successes.  During the first day of the spanish weekend, the Ferrari 458 GT2 of Andrea Montermini and Niccolò Schirò was the fastest supercar on track. Montermini did set a sensational pole position and the fastest lap for race-1. Then the new GT Open champion dominated the first half of the race, but, after the mandatory pit-stop for driver's change, unfortunately, his young team-mate could not finish the race because of a contact with a rival car.

Now the Villorba crew want to take revenge in race-2, when, thanks to a remarkable qualifying session by Schirò, their Ferrari 458 will start from the front row again. The race is to be held on Sunday November 10 at 11:55 and will be broadcasted live on www.gtopen.net (clicking on WEB TV) and on tv channels Motors TV (Europe), RaiSport 2 (Italy), Sport 1+ (Germany), Canal+/Sportmania and Teledeporte RTVE (Spain), Sport TV (Portugal); at 10:55 there) and Sport TV (Turkey).

“No-one was able to compete against us today - says Amadio, Team Principal -. Our team work was perfect and brought us in front of everyone at the start and in the first part of the race once again. Then something that it is part of racing happened. We can't wait until race-2 to take revenge and close this stunning season with another great result.”
